Se7en1nch Opens At Clarke Quay

Se7en1nch, a new bar specializing in live alternative and progressive rock ‘n’ roll music and embracing the spirit of the psychedelic era officially opened its doors at Clarke Quay on 5 January 2011. Founded by Keef Ong, who also owns the popular blues rock ‘n’ roll bar, Crazy Elephant, Se7en1nch offers an experience like none other in Singapore.

Entertainment
With over thirty years experience in the music industry, including over a decade as a record producer, founder Keef Ong decided to handpick the musicians for the exclusive Se7en1nch house band, Last Clean Shirt, himself. Playing from 10 pm onwards, Monday to Saturday and featuring an eclectic set list of covers that changes every night, crossing into a variety of genres, from prog and alt rock to indie, funk, soul, and maybe just a good old fashioned jam session, Last Clean Shirt is one band that you do not want to miss. When the band is not on stage, Keef himself can often be found manning the DJ booth, lining up songs from his personal playlist, with anything from King Crimson to Kings of Leon possible.

For music this good, you need eye candy to match, and Se7en1nch delivers it every Tuesday to Saturday from 10 pm onwards in the form of the seductive Se7en1nch professional pole dancers. Too hot to handle, these ladies will give you a show to remember.

Beverages
You can’t have a psychedelic experience without tripping out, which is why Se7en1nch is the only bar in Singapore specializing in absinthe cocktails. Along with the traditional style, served with a strainer and sugar cube, à la the bohemian poets of old, Se7en1nch has a variety of lethal house concoctions, each made from different types of premium imported absinthe; among them, the infamous black absinthe, most potent of all, with an 85% alcohol volume – guaranteed to make you see things.

For the brave of heart, or just the subconscious pyromaniac, the towering inferno that is the Flaming Suicide is a must try. For those who prefer their drinks flame free, Se7en1nch’s signature Duck My Sick is a potent combination of strawberry puree, red bull and black absinthe – just make sure you don’t slur your words when ordering it! Groups – or the adventurous solo drinker – should not miss out on the Seven Deadly Sins. Seven shots: Wrath, Sloth, Envy, Greed, Gluttony, Pride and Lust, each ready to send you straight to Hell.

For those not so adventurous, a selection of beers, other cocktails and shooters, including martinis, margaritas and mocktails is also available.

Interior
With psychedelic graffiti by celebrated local artist Suffian, a permanent live music stage and, of course, killer acoustics, Se7en1nch has an indoor seating capacity of 147 with an outdoor area seating a further 60.
